With all the noise around screen time, it’s easy to assume gaming is just a waste of time—or worse, something harmful. But what if it’s not that simple?
In today’s Q&A, I’m answering a question I hear all the time:
Is there any developmental value to kids playing games online?
The short answer? Yes—and no.
Not all screen time is created equal.
In the video, I dive into the difference between active and passive screen time, why gaming can actually be a powerful way for kids to learn and grow, and how connection—even digital connection—can actually be beneficial when it motivates healthy, age-appropriate social interaction.
At the same time, boundaries matter. Just because games can be beneficial doesn’t mean unlimited access is the answer. It’s all about striking a balance—supporting your child’s development and helping them learn when to log off.
🎁 I’m including a bonus PDF with real-life tips for navigating screen time and setting limits without constant battles.
